Message from Leadership

Columbia Affiliated Physicians (CAP) is the pre-eminent, physician-led IPA affiliated with Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC), an academic medical center that provides international leadership in patient care, research discovery, and medical education. The primary care and specialist practices that make up CAP represent more than 450 physicians and mid-level practitioners across 15 specialties, with member practices located in Manhattan, Westchester / Hudson Valley, Long Island, Northern NJ, and beyond.

As the executive leadership of CAP, we strongly believe that the best patient care results from close collaboration between frontline clinicians and academic medical centers such as Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and our team works tirelessly to foster these connections. Our members receive departmental appointments at CUIMC and have close relationships with world-renowned specialists at CUIMC that enhance the care of the patients they share.

Our members also participate in educational and quality improvement activities organized by both CUIMC and CAP. Furthermore, in addition to joining the delegated contracts under our messenger models, CAP practices are an integral part of population health programs that cover more than 52,000 attributed lives and share in benefits such as care management fees and shared savings.
